Raja, the Loyal Stray

Near Kanpur Central Railway Station, we found Raja, a beloved stray dog known for guarding a small tea stall. The shop owner told us that Raja had been attacked by another stray, leaving him with deep bite wounds that had become infected. Despite his injuries, Raja continued to protect the shop, refusing to leave his post.

The shop owner called us, worried about Raja’s worsening condition. When we arrived, Raja seemed hesitant to leave, but with some coaxing and a promise of food, he followed us to the shelter. There, we treated his wounds and provided him with rest and care.

Raja’s recovery was swift, thanks to his strong will and the love he received at the shelter. Once healed, we returned him to the tea stall, where the community welcomed him back with open arms. Today, Raja continues to be a loyal protector of the shop, loved and cared for by the locals.
